This course provides a clear understanding of the responsibilities, duties and role of a Fire Warden/Marshal, conforming to all the requirements of the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety Order) 2005.
Basic Fire awareness training – covers understanding of what actions to take in the event of a fire, associated fire risks within specific site, general fire precautions, action upon hearing the alarm, operation of manual call points, location of fire extinguishers (site specific), meaning of fire signage, means for summoning the fire service, identity of persons nominated to assist in evacuation (including disabled persons), identity of persons nominated in the use of firefighting equipment.
Fire Marshal Training – will cover all elements of the basic fire awareness training provision as noted above, along with additional content relating to individual roles, responsibilities & expectations (as provided by client). These will cover the safe process to perform sweeps of specific areas to identify any person remaining within the building (including any disabled persons), along with duties & expectations once the building is deemed to be clear of all persons. Training will also cover how to conduct, record, and utilise lessons learnt in relations to fire evacuation drills. Practical hands-on firefighting training – will provide hands on experience of how to handle and operate fire extinguishers (all types used onsite) and blankets, other systems (sprinklers etc.) will be covered and explained (please beware that no fires can be used during the hands-on sessions – client to provide extinguishers & blankets)
